Students to industry

The transfer of students and researchers to industry

With over 120 PhD students Tyndall has the largest population of ICT PhD students in Ireland. Our students graduate as the best qualified researchers in the country and are sought both nationally and internationally for their skills and expertise. Today Tyndall alumni occupy positions of responsibility in some of the world’s leading technology companies including Intel, Analog Devices, Qualcomm, etc…(Validate)

We also support industry sponsored PhD and Masters student programs which allows a company provide an input to the research topics for the student, thereby tailoring the students expertise to areas directly relevant to the company.

The Enterprise Partnership Scheme

The Enterprise Partnership Scheme is an innovative initiative through which IRCSET links with private enterprise and eligible public bodies to award co-funded postgraduate scholarships and postdoctoral fellowships to the most promising researchers in Ireland.

The Scheme offers researchers the opportunity to gain additional beneficial experience and insight into the commercial arena while completing their research.

It provides industry with flexible and easy access to an exceptional pool of competitively selected, high calibre researchers and the opportunity to build links with relevant academic research groups.

The Scheme facilitates the establishment of new relationships and the strengthening of existing relationships between industry and academia while offering financial support to researchers at an early stage of their career development.
